The Effect of Implementation Therapeutic Communication Plan based on Hilgard Peplau theory on Burned Patient’s cooperation in caring and curing plans.

Abstract

Background: The nature of burn injury causes deep effect on physical, psychological and emotional patient's aspects that minimize patient's cooperation in self care process.
Aim: this study had done in order to determine the effect implementation of therapeutic communication plan on burned patient’s cooperation in caring and curing plans.
Methods:
This is Qusi-Exprimental Study which is carried out in Imam Reza’s hospital in Mashad in 2007.The sample included 60 patients hospitalized in woman Burn unit to two groups. (30 patients in Experimental group and 30 patients in control group). Data collection tools include Demographic Data and two observational checklists developed by the researcher that their reliability and validity was confirmed. Therapeutic communication plan implement on case group patients. Cheklists completed in 3 stages: before, during and after intervention. Data analyzed with SPSS program With Man Wittny U and Analysis Variance Tests.
Results:
According to the result Man Wittny U test indicated the significant statistically difference in patient’s cooperation in change dressing and cooperation in physiotherapy (p=0/001) between two groups during and after intervention.morover Analysis variraice with wilks test showd significant statistically difference in patient’s cooperation in change dressing and cooperation in physiotherapy (p=0/001) between two groups before, during and after intervention
Conclusion:
The study results Revealed immportance of nurse-patient relationship on patient participation process in caring and curing plans and consequently on patient's clinical pathway therefore is suggested that therapeutic communication plan use in care of burned patients.
